Collection: Ponte & Double Knits
Double Knits
There are several types of double knit. These are more structured, stable knits that have more body than normal knits.
Liverpool - Liverpool is a poly spandex blend that is textured on the *right side of the fabric and smooth on the *wrong side. It’s typically 2-way stretch with great recovery. Because of it's thickness and body it has marvelous drape.
Idea's on what you can make: Pencil skirts, peplum tops, full circle skirts, blazers, dresses
Scuba - Scuba is another poly spandex blend that is smooth on both sides. No, this is not what they make scuba suits from. This also typically only has 2-way stretch with fantastic recovery. The drape on this is going to be similar to that of liverpool and ponte.
Idea's on what you can make: Pencil skirts, peplum tops, full circle skirts, blazers, dresses.
Ponte - Ponte is made up of poly spandex but is sometimes spun with rayon and cotton as well which will give it a little different feel to it. It has stiff stretch with excellent recovery. Because of it's qualities it has a nice drape like liverpool and scuba.
Idea's on what you can make: Pencil skirts, peplum tops, full circle skirts, blazers, pants, cuffs.
*Fabric has something called the "right" side. Most times this right side is what you see when wearing a garment, the "wrong" side being on the inside that touches your skin.
